Foreward is an audio drama podcast that chronicles one family’s story after the tragedy of a school shooting.

As a nation, not only have we become numb to violence in schools, we have failed to recognize that the actual event is merely the spark that creates a fire that burns in families indefinitely. With the joys and triumphs of everyday life, the event continues to weave its way through every aspect of a family for the rest of their lives.

A Complex Story Told With Grace & Gravitas

Foreward does an excellent job of telling a complex and tragic story in a highly captivating and empathetic manner. Through heartfelt and emotional acting performances, focused character development, impressive sound design and more, Taylor and her team have created a world that makes you feel like you are a part of this Colorado community, experiencing life through the eyes of each resident. Foreward does not shy away from difficult subject matter, but addresses trauma and pain with both grace and gravitas, choosing the messiness of real life over a cookie cutter story arch. Part of that is due to the real-life nature of these events, and I imagine part of that is due to an overall philosophy that understands the true complexity trauma can create. Whether or not you can relate directly to the subject matter, Foreward will connect with you in many universal ways and inspire an increased level of empathy for not only those who have lived through such tragedies, but for yourself and your lived experiences as well.
