What The 2022 Midterms Mean For And About America: An Historical Perspective

What The 2022 Midterms Mean For And About America: An Historical Perspective

Much of the analysis surrounding the 2022 midterms has been divorced of any larger or historical perspective. Instead, it has focused mostly on how great a result it was for Democrats, with the only perspective being how badly it was supposed to go. In this episode, we look to take a step back and look at the results objectively to find out what they really mean for and about America.

Being Apolitical Is Not a Virtue

Being Apolitical Is Not a Virtue

People often say "they don't care about politics" or they "don't like to get political" as a sort of warning sign that they come in peace as virtuous people. However, being apolitical is both impossible and far from a virtue. Because your political beliefs are little more than how you believe other people ought to be treated.

Creative and Relevant

Noah does a great job of taking difficult philosophical concepts and making them palatable to a wide audience. I love his approach of taking history and applying it to our world today; this is exactly why I enjoy learning about history, because there is so much to know and it matters to our understanding of the world. Can’t wait to see how this podcast grows.

Liked very much!

Very informative, easy to understand and thought provoking! I am very interested in history and how it relates to now but not very educated this was a great thing for me to listen to and I look forward to future episodes! It leaves me feeling a little bit smarter each time 😁

Finally I understand Locke!!

I took philosophy in college but rarely had what I was learning applied to contemporary times. I really appreciated the way Noah McMillan did this for me. This would be a great teaching tool for anyone involved in teaching American history or political science!
