First Stop For Technological Advice Curated For Lawyers!

After 38 years of legal practice, the last 15 of which were with a governmental agency, I decided to open my own solo law firm. However, throughout my legal career I either worked for law firms or the government which had their own IT departments, so it was not necessary for me to stay abreast of the latest technological advancements. Therefore, at age 66 I was facing the brave new world of solo practice and needed assistance on all fronts. I began by reacquainting myself Carolyn Elefant, (the founder of the MyShingle.com blog and author of “Solo By Choice) by joining her Facebook group. One day I asked the group for suggestions about the best type of laptop to purchase for my new practice and Michael Eisenberg immediately responded and offered to discuss my options with me personally. Although he was at a tech conference when I called, Michael took the time to learn my goals for my future practice and provided solid advice on tech matters as well as other resources, such as opening an Apple business account and following other helpful podcasts. We spoke over 30 minutes, and I was impressed with the breadth and depth of Michael’s knowledge. It is evident that he has a genuine passion for both his own law practice and for providing technical information for lawyers. At the end of the call, I was armed with a myriad of suggestions that will help me get my law firm off to a great start. Since then, I have been following him on all social media platforms and listening to his podcasts. I am very happy to have met Michael and highly recommend that any attorney follow him for up-to-date advice on operating a law firm with the latest technological advances. Thank you, Michael!
