We were lucky enough to be joined by the incredibly talented Riley Dandy! One of the best final girls from 2022 in Christmas Bloody Christmas! Freddy talked about her newest movie, Things Will Be Different. An incredible sci-fi thriller that will have people talking about it for a long time. She shares how the film was made and some great behind-the-scenes fun facts. Also talked about how great the horror community is and what it means to us.

SYNOPSIS: When estranged siblings Joseph and Sidney rendezvous at a local diner after a close-call robbery, they hightail it to an abandoned farmhouse that transports them to a different time to escape the local cops. But when they try to return to their present after the coast is clear, an unknown metaphysical force cuts them off and maroons them on the land unless they do exactly what they're told. What comes from this not only bends the forces of spacetime but also bends Joe and Sid's familial bonds beyond the point of trust and forgiveness.

Listen, I don’t even like scary movies or horror films but I find your podcast really cool to listen to especially for spooky season !!
Lots of enthusiasm, not much editing
The movie recaps generally are beat by beat recountings of the movie rather than summaries or recaps of the main plot points, which makes the episodes extremely long and less interesting than I find the more streamlined recaps on some similar horror movie podcasts to be. Another nitpick - although this seems to have improved recently, there’s a lot of the host misreading or losing his place in the notes - totally reasonable that this happens when switching between notes and off the cuff commentary, but editing this type of stuff out would really improve the listening experience. Most of the commentary is just the hosts noting stuff they enjoyed, which is great for a movie you loved top to bottom, less great for a movie you want critical analysis of. Less frequently there is some more insightful commentary, especially from Freddie. Overall, if you want gushing over every part of a movie you love, this is a great, fun choice with a lot of enthusiasm. If you want a streamlined summary and analysis, this probably isn’t the best option.
