Captain Meets Phil Palmer (Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Frank Zappa & More!)
It's probably easier to list off who Phil Palmer hasn't played with as a legendary session guitarist. He rivals Tom Jones for name dropping: Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Paul McCartney and so many more. Phil is a simply outstanding musician with great stories to tell.
We got all the tales of working with global superstars, as well as a lick of lovely playing, too, in one of our deepest dives into the mind of a veteran guitarist.

Enjoying the Album Reviews
Awesome album review of Bon Jovi. Nice to see the similar music influences with the Captain and a fun walk down memory lane. Obviously, he and all of us have expanded our musical taste and guitar playing influences a lot since then but cool to take a look back, particularly with John getting the MusicCares award recently. Happy to hear Reckless is coming next, another big influence on my guitar playing. Keith Scott usually played stuff that was simple enough for me to learn but he has such awesome tone, touch, and taste for the lead / guitar parts to serve the song. And, proved you didn’t have to be a guitar wizard like EVH to still be a rock guitarist. Great work guys!
Thank you!!
