Great Podcast!

As a new player to the show, and one who didn’t want to pay $60 for the newest version while in lock-down during COVID-19 times, I purchased MLB the Show ‘19. As a new player to The Show, and a huge baseball fan, I’ve gotta say that I’ve had a ton of fun playing. I wanted to dive deeper into the DD format, though didn’t know where to start. I found that your podcast has helped me to understand the strategy of the game and approach to finding cards and has made my experience extremely enjoyable! Though I am a year behind, and can no longer sell cards for deals, it’s fun to listen to you guys talk through your thoughts as you were experiencing the game for the first time, like I am now.

Don’t listen to these other guys who have harsh criticism. If they wanted to, they could make their own podcast! I find that this is a very enjoyable listening experience and only am sorry to see that you guys are no longer continuing to do them. I hope these people that left reviews didn’t run you off. Please at least post an update!

Thank You!

Informative yet dry

Giving 5 stars because I love listening to the podcast, but I really think it can be improved.
I came over from CooperstownKurt’s TWI MLB the Show and have been somewhat disappointed in The ShowCast.
Each episode is essentially the same every week. You break down the new cards in the game and then occasionally field our questions. It gets boring. Anyone who listens to the podcast is usually well-versed in the new cards. I don’t need to hear about the fielding rating on every new card that is dropped. I don’t need your detailed opinions on the usability of a Flawless reward card that I will never use because it costs 200k.
So what instead? Well, what are you two doing in the game that week? Did anything interesting happen in your online games? What game modes are you enjoying, or not? Which cards do you play well with, and not? Do you work the market? Which players are you saving up for, and what do your teams currently look like? This is the stuff I want to hear about.
Of course the breakdowns of cards you do are very good and shouldn’t go away - just be condensed. Spend 15 minutes talking about new cards instead of 45. Now you can take that extra 30 minutes with the stuff I mentioned above. Or have a theme of an episode, possibly even having guests on for interviews.
Don’t be afraid to go off on tangents. Not completely off topic, but get away from MLB the Show sometimes. Anything interesting happen in the MLB that week (not just the Red Sox, there are other teams! ;))? Do you collect baseball cards? Play any other video games?
And finally I always love the listener questions. They are often thought provoking, and I’d love for there to be more, although that is mostly driven by the magnitude of the audience.
I hope you found some stuff in my suggestions to build on, I really do enjoy listening but sometimes get bored.

It’s ok

Every episode goes on the same formula basically. New cards, spend 40 minutes talking about the stats of the cards. Also, by the time the podcast is dropped anyone who is listening to this podcast has already spent a week looking at or playing with the new cards. They want to make a podcast but unfortunately don’t have the time to release one a week at the very least.
