Far West Texas is one of the most magical regions of the state to visit for a number of reasons, but until recently barbecue wasn’t one of them. That has changed in recent years and Brick Vault Brewery and Barbecue is a big reason why.Phillip Moellering came to Marathon for school and never left, having worked at the beautiful Gage Hotel for 14 years and in 2018 opening Brick Vault. With a strong menu of quality sides, craft sausage and meats produced by Phillip, Jerek Lara and the Brick Vault that pair well with their award winning housemade beers created by brewmaster Amy Oxenham, Brick Vault Brewery and Barbecue is an oasis as you arrive at the gateway to Big Bend.Instagram: brickvaultbreweryandbbqThurs-Fri: 5p-9pSaturday: 12p-9pSunday: 12p-5p

Fantastic podcast

I just discovered this about a week and a half ago. I’m already at Episode 49. I have a job that allows me to listen to podcasts all day and this is my new favorite. I’m a fellow Houstonian and can’t believe I had never heard of this podcast until now. Can’t wait to learn more about bbq and visit all the great places I can.

Great bbq podcast

I really enjoy your podcast and was relistening to your latest bbq tour episode when my wife and I were driving back from Colorado to San Antonio last week. I tried to hit Evie Maes in Lubbock but sadly I didn’t time it right but we ate at Chopped and Sliced and that was really good. Regarding digestion issues when I was in Ft Collins I found that “Acid Soothe” chewables work really well. It eliminated my heartburn with bbq, coffee and spicy food. You guys do a great job, it is really fun to listen to!
