My favourite podcast by far

HAMKIA is an awesome podcast that is a really cool commentary on the weird world of advice columns and related stuff, as well as being an awesome space for queer individuals. Han and Matt balance humour and heart for sure. It’s the podcast I pause other podcasts to listen to.

Okay concept, not a fan of the hosts

I very much enjoy advice columns and heard about this podcast by googling “advice podcasts.” For advice columnists, they talk about themselves a lot instead of focusing on the questions and giving advice. For almost every question, they talk about similar situations they’ve experienced and what they did and frame it in a way that makes it seem like the way they do things is superior. They honestly seem a bit self absorbed and they are pretty self congratulatory about their “woke-ness”. I generally just find their personalities irritating.

A great listen

I found my way to Han and Matt from Captain Awkward and I’m so glad I did. Their take on advice columns from all corners is heartfelt yet entertaining. I’m working my way through all the back episodes and I think I’ll be kind of sad when I finish and there’s only one a week.
