Tiny Vampires
Ever wonder how we genetically modify mosquitoes? Curious about the parasites? Have questions about how tick bites cause meat allergies? Tiny Vampires is a show about insects that transmit disease and the scientists that are fighting them. Each episode is guided by questions sent in by listeners. Far and Away My Favorite Podcast

Interesting topics, meticulously referenced, complicated science explained for the layman without being dumbed down. This is far and away my favorite podcast!
excellent

I love history podcasts, but science podcasts generally leave me cold. This one is different - fascinating, informative, and almost never pedantic. Honestly, there are only two things I dislike about this podcast. First, there's an occasional need to sqiurm and wish I'd never heard any of this stuff; it's a podcast about bloodsucking insects after all. Second, I wish it was published more often, but I understand Raven has a life and a job and all that.

Tiny Vampires is a very well made and informative podcast. If you listen to it, you will certainly learn a lot about disease, science and bloodsucking insects. That it comes out in Spanish as well as English just makes it better. As a former Peace Corps volunteer, I wish everyone could hear it, I bet it would help the people I worked with in Africa if they could hear it too.
Journal reviews...oh my

The host, Raven Forrest Fruscalzo, does a great job with the show. It is jammed packed with information, but she is an excellent communicator making the content easy to follow. I had never study etymology before but she has sparked my interest. What I love about the show: Each episode she reviews a primary journal article (or two). What it could use: Broader range topics, but of course this is unrealistic to ask. She goes in depth about her field of expertise and that is what makes it such a great show.
Great podcast

Raven does an outstanding job of taking extremely complex molecular biology & disease epidemiology and explaining it in a way that can be readily understood by us mere humans. This is a fascinating and well done podcast.
Good, quick pod

I really like how quick and to the point this podcast is. I came across this podcast via the History of the Papacy podcast. Raven does a good job informing me on a very unique subject. I never expected to find mosquitoes and ticks to be so interesting. I really enjoy the crossover episodes as well.
Science Rules!

This is a podcast for uneducated science lovers. I are one. The subjects are fascinating, spoken clearly, logical in their sequences, and delivered by a really smart human. I’m patiently waiting for Agora’s Halloween Specials, and what better a match than with parasites? Oh, Eeee-eugh! Thanks, Raven!
Very Informative

Very informative even for us dullards who don't have an adequate scientific backround. Speaks at me, not below or above me. Many kudos to Raven.
Great, Informative Podcast

I really enjoy that I can learn about some of the most cutting edge scientific research in plain English. I think this podcast is helping bring academics out of the Ivory Tower, which is a great thing.
