Reality Life with Kate Casey

Kate Casey is so smart, so well spoken, and such a good podcaster. I was introduced to her by listening to Juicy Scoop. I have been watching documentaries for decades. She has the best recommendations for docs and unscripted tv. She’s also such a great interviewer. I love that she is no-nonsense and not another thirsty podcaster. She presents information factually and without hype. She’s level-headed and a great journalist.

I realize Kate’s not a trained reporter but she is getting facts wrong on the Karen Read stuff, and that type of bad information contributes to polarization. For example, she named people the defense put up as alternate theories as suspects. They are not suspects, it’s a defense. She also left out that the defense paid the cell phone experts - that was a big issue. There are facts and then there are narratives and if you want to paint yourself as a reporter, stick with the facts.

Kate Casey sounds like she is whispering into the microphone while pinching her nose shut and reading off of a cue card. I do not understand the hype. And she has on this guy, Jonathan Marks, who is supposed to be a psychic and could not sound like a bigger moron. Why did I just Just listen to an hour of a girl talking about her friend dying in a plane crash a long time ago, received no new information, and then had to sit through a supposed psychic saying things like “oh yeah the dad was super chill. Such a chill guy yeah he’s just really chill yeah ha ha I’m just getting such a chill vibe.” Help. It’s just nonsense.

This is my favorite podcast! Kate Casey covers everything from Housewives, real crime and popular culture with both humor and enthusiasm. I’m amazed that she manages to put out so many episodes while managing her life and children. I look forward to listening every week!
