    Mike Schmidt Talks Renegades.
While visiting Alberta, Canada, for the 2018 Vul-con—an annual Star Trek convention hosted by the city of Vulcan—Trek.fm roving reporter Brandon-Shea Mutala of Melodic Treks met up with a specially trained hitman by the name of Mike. But don't be alarmed; Brandon is fine. As for Mike, he landed a role in the series Renegades (formerly Star Trek: Renegades) playing a hitman in a crucial scene in the second episode of this adventure featuring many familiar faces from Star Trek.

Ray Tesi talks Stage Nine Studios.
In 2017, Ray Tesi began production on a Star Trek fan film entitled Starship Republic. That project is still in the works, and hopefully will be released in the not-too-distant future. Making fan films is a passion for Tesi, and that has led him to take a giant leap of faith with the acquisition of his very own production space: Stage Nine Studios in Kingsland, Georgia. If that location sounds familiar, it’s because Star Trek Continues filmed there. Tesi struck a deal with Vic Mignogna and purchased the former home of Star Trek Continues, complete with standing sets and lighting rigs.
In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson is joined by Tesi to talk about Stage Nine Studios, how he came to be own these well-known sets, and why having a fully outfitted studio is a dream come true for this truly avid Star trek fan.

    The Romulans! They’re Here!

Mark Naccarato Talks The Romulan War.
Since 2009, Mark Naccarato has created, filmed, and financed his Star Trek fan film The Romulan War. Now it is almost complete, and he needs the help of fans to cross the finish line.
The Romulan War tells the story of the vicious and often unprovoked attacks on Earth and its colonies during the 22nd century. Following the events leading to the foundation of the United Federation of Planets, the film documents key moments in history and expands the viewer’s knowledge of this sometimes-forgotten period.

    A Fragile Peace

Gary O’Brien Talks The Holy Core.
In 2017, filmmaker Gary O’Brien released his first Star Trek fan film, Chance Encounter. It was well received and has been viewed more than 50,000 times. Gary lives and works in Oxfordshire, England, and is part of a growing band of British filmmakers creating new and exciting Star Trek stories. His latest project, The Holy Core, is essentially a Next Generation story centered on the exploits of the Nebula-class USS Vigilance as the crew seeks to assist the inhabitants of the planet Vita II after a long and costly religious war. However, all is not what it seems.
In this episode of Continuing Mission, Gary chats with host Tony Robinson about The Holy Core, what he has learned since Chance Encounter, and tells us about the Kickstarter campaign designed to support the new project.

An excellent interviewer, a great podcast!

I am anxious to learn more about fan films, so was delighted to find this podcast. The host is excellent - he has a wonderful way with his guests, and asks all the questions that I would ask. I just hit the "subscribe" button, and I suggest that everyone else does the same. You'll be happy you did.

Phasers on fun!

This is a trailblazing podcast in the Star Trek world; the first one (at least to my knowledge) focussing on the wide range of fan productions and giving them a voice of their own, to help them get the recognition they deserve. Each podcast show is fun and insightful, with fascinating interviews and background information. Thanks again to Chris and Trek.fm for an awesome job!
