Colorful re-creation of the Pilgrims' journey to America aboard the Mayflower, guided by bullheaded Captain Christopher Jones, who intends to guide the ship to its destination come Hell, high water or any other obstacle. Meanwhile, the famous romance of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins blossoms. The film earned an Academy Award for Best Special Effects.
