Loving book two!

I’m loving book two in this series as we follow Thalia to her homeland and learn about her clan. I’m getting some very Highland vibes with this group right down to the Kragh Aru competition where the prize is a chance to win the hand of Thalia. Think well muscled men in furs and leather with swords at the ready to show their strengths. Yeah, baby and I am here for it! 🙌🏼

Thalia still grates on my nerves with her poor decisions in this book. I’m dumbfounded at how she’s not a total vegetable in an infirmary with as many blows to the head she tends to get but I guess that’s what the Healers are there for. Joss and Kael continue to vie for her favor while Thalia fights what her heart already knows.

Now if you will excuse me as I’m off to find some answers of my own while I devour book 3!

I wanted to like it considering the good reviews

I tried to finish reading this as the first book was a pretty okay read, enough so you could ignore its shortcomings but wow, the Steele Wolf character interactions and dialogue is almost unbearable to read. From my understanding these characters are in their twenties but the way that they are written they bicker and whine like pre-teen children. The story itself is so promising as well as the world building, but the writing needs much improvement. I have never rated books negatively before but I feel obligated at this point because it is that bad 😅.

Captivating Read

Chanda does an amazing job at capturing your attention and keeping things exciting in this novel. There’s never really any dull moments! And even in the times when there isn’t a lot of action going on your still taken on an emotional ride along with Thalia. I just love everything about this series. This is my 3rd time reading through the series.
