The Past Societies 4

Volume 4 (500 BC–500 AD) covers times of even greater “opening” to the world beyond, together with the migration of large societies – both those arriving in Polish lands, and those abandoning them in search of better living conditions. Contacts with the great civilizations of the Celts, Romans, and Germanics (confirmed in ancient written records) imbued social and cultural processes with an extraordinary dynamism. Moreover, the development of new technologies and of “the world imagined” found reflection in an astonishingly rich material culture.
