Ashley8395 ,

I was enthralled from the beginning.

I was enthralled from the beginning. I could not put this book down even if I tried. This poor young lady is whisked away, by her uncle, at her father’s dying wish, to a Priory. Since he could not secure a betrothal he had decided to send to nun. She was being escorted to the priory when along the way she was being mistreated by her so called protectors (Men her uncle hired) Along came Sir Peter, but could she trust this man? Was he like the rest, rude and continually lurking at her?

The story is great, plot thick, and the characters feel alive. I wanted so badly to be in this book. I felt every character had a story. You knew them and either liked or disliked them. There was action, mystery, lies, and betrayal. You cannot go wrong with this book. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Knowing these last two books, I can only imagine what fun and adventure Ashley York will take me on.

Amazing Read

Another spectacular read by Ashley York in The Gentle Knight (The Norman Conquest series, book 2. I totally devoured this book. It has so many twists and turns and at times a major heart string puller so have your Kleenex nearby. It's a major page turner that is superbly written you don't want let this exceptional book pass you by as it is both fascinating and captivating.

It is the story of Brighit MacNaughton of Ireland whose father Padraig is on his deathbed and wishes Brighit to be a nun. This is shocking news to Brighit as she had been in betrothed contracts in the past and dreamed of a husband and children and living near her family. A bit disappointing but was the ever obedient daughter and would become a bride of Christ going to England to live in Priory behind convent walls forever. Her brother Tadhg saddened by the loss of his favorite sister has their Uncle Ronan take Brighit for her protection and virtue. Since Tadhg will be stepping in her fathers place and become leader on their clan once their father passes on to his next life.

Peter of Normandy is a great warrior the Kings man devastated and guilt ridden over the death of his mistress one of the queens ladies. He is send him on a mission to England to forget his troubles where he meets the Irish beauty Brighit whom seems to be abused by her protector. Ivan ,hired by a neglectful Uncle who was supposed to be taking her to the the priory convent himself, but dumps her in evil cruel mean spirited man's hands who threaten her life!

Peter can see right through this short pudgie coward whom seem to enjoyment threatening women and abusing animals. Against everything this brave warrior is taught and soon is under his complete protection the problem is he lusts after her greatly. The problem with lust it turns into love? Plus the fact Brighit doesn't really want to be a nun and take her vows, yet she is ever the obedient sister and daughter. Of course she wants what every young girl wants to be a wife and mother something that scares Peter to death! As he lost both his own mother and former mistress in childbirth! Will Peter be able to forget about Jeanette's ghost and will Brighit become the bride of Christ?

You will have to read this fantastic book and find out I highly recommend The Gentle Knight and recommend Ashley's previous books the Bruised Thistle and The Saxon Bride (Norman Conquest series, book 1)
