The Good, The Bad, The Constable
This book was outstanding! My only problem with it being that it was too short and rather predictable, but other than that it was great.
A fun, electrifying story taking place in a small town in Jakku. Constable Zuvio is a lawman in an unlawful place. The feel the author was trying to project was that of a classic western. Very reminiscent of classic's by John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
One of the best short stories in the new canon.
A Return to Form
Wonderfully played, Walker expertly navigates the western genre to weave a tale that's all at once refreshing and engaging. Never falling into the easy trap of trope, Walker tells an engaging tale of intrigue and emotion that employs the very best parts of the western and heist genres.
I immediately felt as if i knew CZ and Zuvio, connected to them as if they had always been a part if the Star Wars mythos -- and, I guess, they really always have been.
As I read, I was sad. I was angry. I was thrilled. And in the end, I was immensely satisfied by one of the absolute best Star Wars stories ever told. Don't let it's simplicity fool you, High Noon on Jakku is a must read for any and every Star Wars fan. An instant classic.
Another great tale!
Finally get to see Zuvio in action. Was looking forward to seeing him in TFA but his scene was deleted! We've got the figures, but he's not even in the film..?! Then, by happy happenstance, I found this short tale. Had to get it.
I also highly recommend the tale- The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku, by same author. Now that is a great one! My fav so far.
