Time doesn't heal all wounds …

Rebekah Stone knows that all too well.  She's spent years trying everything to forget the pain, but the only thing that keeps her mind occupied is her work as a newspaper reporter and photographer.  The intense demands of capturing front page news on camera and obtaining details to put it in print are what keep her going, and being a constant witness to the atrocities of life reinforces her disbelief in God.  Keeping herself ever-more removed from feeling sympathy for the victims she photographs also helps her heart stay hardened.  Until Joel Foster barges back into her life.

Nine years ago, they were supposed to get married, but Joel ended the engagement, leaving her as broken as her heart.  One more reason for her not to believe in a so-called loving God.  The world was a hard, ugly place.  But not according to Joel.  Not even after his marriage failed.  He arrived on her doorstep hopeful and seemingly happy, talking about Jesus and church—and a second chance at love and marriage with Rebekah.  Not only that, but he wanted her to give up her journalism career and live the lifestyle of a homemaker.  A man gone insane!

But as the months pass and Joel becomes a bigger part of her Texas small-town life, she can't deny she never stopped loving him.  But how can she choose?  What's more important: a fulfilling career or someone you love?  And can she come to understand God loves her and she should trust in Him once again?

As Rebekah struggles through memories and complex emotions, she also encounters the rewards and consequences that arise when love is lost and then renewed.
