Publisher Description
“Lots of characters get compared to my own Jack Reacher, but Petrie’s Peter Ash is the real deal.”—Lee Child
In this action-packed thriller starring war veteran Peter Ash, a well-planned and flawlessly executed hijacking reveals the hidden dangers of Colorado's mellowest business, but Ash may find there’s more to this crime than meets the eye.
Combat veteran Peter Ash leaves a simple life rebuilding hiking trails in Oregon to help his good friend Henry Nygaard, whose daughter runs a Denver security company that protects cash-rich cannabis entrepreneurs from modern-day highwaymen. Henry’s son-in-law and the company’s operations manager were carrying a large sum of client money when their vehicle vanished without a trace, leaving Henry’s daughter and her company vulnerable.
When Peter is riding shotgun on another cash run, the cargo he’s guarding comes under attack and he narrowly escapes with his life. As the assaults escalate, Peter has to wonder: for criminals this sophisticated, is it really just about the cash?
After finding himself on the defensive for too long, Peter marshals his resources and begins to dig for the truth in a scheme that is bigger—and far more lucrative—than he’d ever anticipated. With so much on the line, his enemy will not give up quietly...and now he has Peter directly in his sights.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
With its crackling dialogue and jaw-dropping twists, Nick Petrie's third book about combat veteran Peter Ash—an exceptionally franchise-worthy hero—is a gripping, action-packed thriller. Here, the well-traveled Ash is on the job in Colorado, where he's guarding cash for the state’s booming cannabis industry. It's a high-stakes gig, as evidenced by an expertly planned hijacking that only Ash survives. Petrie's obvious affection for Ash is evident throughout Light It Up; his battleground savvy, moral complexity, and romantic streak are lovingly drawn, making us root for him harder with every fight he faces.

See AllLight it Up. Nick Petrie
Peter Ash a highly decorated Marine Lieutenant has seen more of his share of combat. He has responded to an old friends request for his daughters security company in Colorado. Marijuana is now legal now and her company transports the money made to legal holding areas. Conventional banks are blocked by the Feds doing business with them. The truck Peter is in is hijacked by professionals and only Peter escapes after killing all of the hijackers except one who posed as a Colorado State Trooper. What ensues is a magnificent tale of suspense, intrigue, deceit and non stop action on every page!!! Enjoyed immensely!! My highest recommendation!!
Very tiresome.
Not good
Great book, terrific brutal story
Again, another excellent Peter Ash, America’s hero, story. The bad guys are still out there, but so is Peter and June and, thankfully, Lewis. Again, Peter is another Jack Reacher, but a Marine, not Army, and younger, but just as smart and tough as Reacher. A very, very, good story.
