Great small town romance
Luke and Tawny have a one night stand that leads them down a path that neither of them had expected. Luke is ready to leave the small town he's lived in his whole life behind. Tawny is the good girl who is graduating college and lives life in a very safe manner. She never strays very far out of her box. The night she decides to let loose with Luke is the most alive she has ever felt. She is left with a forever reminder of that night. Luke and Tawny didn't expect to start a family or even be together, but maybe fate is telling them differently.
I really liked this story. Both Tawny and Luke's characters spoke to me. Luke's part of a family that raises foster kids and he loves his parents even though they have nothing. Tawny doesn't have a support system and is alone except for her best friend. Her plan was always to be a nurse in a school and that was it. I loved how even when Luke was thrown for a loop, he stood by Tawny and wanted to do what was right.
The writing was good and I loved the characters. I would have loved more of Luke and Tawny's story as they fell in love with each other. They are put in this very difficult situation and we see them fall in love, but I'd have loved more of the getting to know you details. Also, the Rex and Suzette who are very close to Tawny and Luke, it's hinted that they may or may not have something going on, but we are kind of left hanging. Maybe they will get their story told, too. Good read.
