As they begin working together, Jason predictably behaves like a spoiled teenager, but becomes increasingly enchanted with Taylor. She eventually begins to see Jason as a nice guy underneath his Hollywood attitude with sleazy, jealous actor Scott Casey as a convenient foil but she can't set aside her trust issues. As Jason tries to convince Taylor to stay in L.A., the book suddenly turns witty and romantic, but getting there is no fun at all.

not too shabby for a first novel!
Though this is James’ first novel (I think), it is the last of hers I’ve read (until she publishes more - can’t wait!). Her writing is much, MUCH better than that of most of the bestselling contemporary fiction novels out there. Just the Sexiest Man Alive is less polished, a little more unrefined, than her later books, but it’s still pretty good. I can’t figure out why Julie James is not more popular! Spunky characters, witty dialogue, and hilarious, laugh-out-loud antics in each of her books - not to mention great, relatable characters who really seem like actual people instead of the two-dimensional stand-ins common in many other books these days. In case anyone’s looking for a recommendation, A Lot Like Love is probably my favorite, and It Happened One Wedding is another stand-out, too!

LOVE LOVE at this book! The witty repartee is just amazing.
