Just One Kiss

I just enjoyed another visit to charming Fools Gold, California. There were a lot of familiar faces, but quite a few different ones. There is a wonderful love story, and some edge of your seat nail biting, and of course the girls partying at Jo's bar.

Patience McGraw is a single Mom with an adorable ten year old named Lillie. They live with Patience's mom Ava. Ava was diagnosed with MS, is doing very well, but it works out for all involved if they live together. Patience is a hair stylist in a local salon with a dream of opening a coffee shop. She was married very young, and her husband cut out relinquishing all parental rights. Luck turns her way after a surprise inheritance from a great aunt, and her coffee shop Brew Ha Ha is no longer an impossible dream.

Justice Garrett was in school with Patience and they were good friends, in fact more like best friends. One day he disappeared, the house he lived in with his uncle, empty, with no explanation to anyone. Patience was heartbroken.
Fourteen years later, Justice is back. He's big and he's bad, and he's in Fools Gold to open a training facility for security personnel. First, he wants to find Patience to explain the true story of his life, and why he has returned to Fools Gold. " Patience was a big part of the pull , he admitted, if only to himself. He'd never forgotten about her and had often wondered where she was and what she was doing."

Even with all the new characters, there are always festivals, someone is having a baby , and someone else needs a helping hand or a casserole. I'm sure some of these newcomers are going to have their own stories, and I'm looking forward to them.

I've been anxiously counting down the days for another trip into Fool's Gold and the wait was so worth it! I love this series! It's heartwarming, funny and makes you feel good when you're done. Although you might wish to rent a moving truck and find this town. Can't wait for the next two books in this summer's trilogy,

Justice Garrett never thought he would return to Fool's Gold, CA the only place he ever called home and back to the only girl he ever really cared about Patience McGraw. But now he has returned and it is looking at making it his home again by opening a business that focuses on training bodyguards, etc. and doing company retreats. After seeing Patience shortly after he returned it becomes evident that although they have spent years apart there connection they had when they were children still lives on.

In addition to Patience's love story you also get to learn more about the next two characters Felicia and Gideon who will be the main characters in Susan's book coming out in a couple weeks. Then there is the stories that she continues from the past Fool's Gold books which I love because you get to see what new has happened and how the connect with other books.

Can't wait to see what she has in store for Gideon and Felicia's story! If you haven't read any of the Fool's Gold books or a Susan Mallery book than this wouldn't be a bad one to start out with. It will just make you want to buy or rent the other ones before it!
