Smirked
I’m only 1/3 of the way through but if one more person “smirks” I might scream. It really comes across as juvenile writing. Other than that, the story isn’t bad. And the price was certainly right.
Idiotic heroines
The story was tolerable but there seems to be a trend to have females break plans, rush around based on emotions, and never listen. This is a dangerous message to send young adults. These spoiled brat main female characters cause others to die and if in a dangerous situation you are encouraging emotion without thought. A non mature frontal lobe is soaking this up and learning not be a team player but heed their underdeveloped impulses. You should be ashamed to push such an agenda. In real life there might not be mages but there are traffickers, gangs, perverts, serial killers, and assorted villains. This is pure propaganda and unfortunately the young believe it.
