Publisher Description
Embrace God's blessings every morning and experience the glory of His promises with thirty-one powerful Scripture lessons based on a regular, favorite feature of Joel Osteen's sermons at Lakewood Church.
Broken into thirty-one segments, this book defines the most powerful blessings in Scripture and encourages readers to declare one each day for a month. The declarations will affirm God's blessings in the area of health, family legacy, decisions, finances, thoughts, outlook, and overcoming obstacles.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Joel Osteen's book is structured as a series of 31 devotionals, each of which describes one of God's promises to the faithful, focusing on areas as varied as personal finance, health, and decision making. Fundamentally, the theme that runs throughout the book is avoidance of negative thoughts, which, when dwelled upon, according to Osteen, can take over one's life and become reality. Osteen is an extremely popular author, a seasoned televangelist, and a pastor at a Lakewood Church in Texas, the largest megachurch in the world, with weekly attendance in the tens of thousands. It is therefore no surprise that Osteen's performance is compelling, enthusiastic, and forceful. Quite simply, he's a master narrator for these devotionals. For Christians with an affinity for Osteen's bombastic style, this audio edition is well worth buying. A FaithWords hardcover.

Dare to know THE SECRET, then DECLARE it!
This motivating book is like the sequel to the book 'The Secret'. Once you learned how to stay positive and believe, then you DECLARE it. I have read this whole book and it really inspired me. Thirty one ideas each day you can declare to have a totally different world you are having. With God in your heart and mind, nothing is impossible. I declare that this book is going to help you at every aspect of your life.
Wrong Category
This should be in the Category "Self Help". Indeed, it has Bible verses included in every chapter and it is not a secular book, but the techniques taught in this book are close to a self help book.
It's a good message for think positively about your life and I'm not trying to take anyone's happiness away. However, as a Christian, the glory of God and the fact that He chose me before the earth was even created to be a child of Him (Eph. 1) should be enough encouragement for me to be happy.
Joel in the sample I downloaded says to think, "I am blessed. I am strong. I am healthy. I will be happy." what happens when your strength fails you? What happens if you develop cancer? Do you simply "declare it" away?
This book places too much emphasis on self and what YOU can foot make your life better... Simply delight in the Word and the truth it brings about all of the spiritual blessings we have received through Jesus' sacrifice! That's what Christian literature is all about, my friends.
More Pseudo-Christianity
Once again Joel Osteen pumps out another self focussed, pseudo-Christian book that is inconsistent with biblical teachings and the gospel of Christ that is bound to earn him another couple million dollars.
