How to Analyze People on Sight

Take this book with a grain of salt. It is not a really great guide to use to analyze people but it does bring light to the different complexities of different people that we may forget exist. It brings to one’s attention that so many different behaviors and feelings and mannerisms belong to different people of different personalities.

I had expected the book to be outdated, but the subject of analyzing people was handled surprisingly maturely given the time that it was written. It makes a full disclosure to inform the reader that this is not meant to be used to judge people. It assures the reader that the statistics used are only the numbers that have been proven consistent. Although I wouldn't say it helped me read other people better, it did help me better understand myself after finishing a self-analysis.

This was an insightful book. It's also a silly book in certain regards. While written from a womans perspective you start trying to figure out where the author falls in her categorizations. This is where the silliness comes into play. Still, it's not just a book of it's time. There are bits of it that can be used and applied to yourself and the world. Making sure to break down your analysis further then what the book describes is where it falls apart. It's a good book to read but remember that the point of the book is for you to take what you've read and apply it to the people around you. Keep that lesson in mind and you'll appreciate the value this book brings.
