I loved this book. This is the second book in the "Worth the Fight" series and defiantly my favorite so far. The first book was good but this one was really good. Romance, hot sex and suspense made this a book a great read. Slade Martin a Cage/MMA fighter was on the verge of seeing his dream come true and getting into a relationship he never thought he'd ever want. Jessica Cross followed her collage boyfriend Dennis to Tarpon Springs, once there he steadily turned violent. Working at the Pier the local bar Jessica meets Slade who shamelessly flirts with her and continually asks her out only to be turned down. One fateful night Slade steps in to protect Jessica from and angry Dennis and ends up in jail. Jessica leaves Dennis but when she goes to talk Dennis out of filing charges on Slade he beats her severely. Slade rushes to her side to protect and take care of her. Can Slade convince Jessica to give them the chance they both want?
Slade is one HOT alpha male and the chemistry between he and Jessica is off the charts. I highly recommend this series.
As I expected.
This was as good as I thought it would be. And even more. At the beginning I thought that you were rewriting what you had previously written in Against the Cage, but as I continued reading I realized you gave Slade and Jessica more back story before you linked it together with what happened with Chrissy and Jack. And that made their story for me more believable. And it was so adorable. Well Slade was, he was cute. Now you have me interested and fully looking forward to silent man Cain and Vi's story. The part where Cain just picked her up and carried her away had me completely in shock. I did not see that coming out of him. It was like he just lost patience, and in my mind I picture him as a complete zen master. Tough and silent and peaceful, laid back. Nothing gets to him, and here comes Violet. And he does a 360 in the matter of seconds. I need to read more about them. I will watch out for their story.
Smok'n Hot Take Charge Man
Wow, super read pulled me in immediately. Was a great follow-up to Against the Cage. Slade and Jessica sizzle, loved the twists and turn of their relationship. Suggest turning up the fan to help cool off while reading. Very yummy alpha male!
