This guide, now updated for Canon 5DIII Firmware 1.2.1, will help you learn to use your 5D Mk III quickly and competently, to consistently make the types of images you desire.  Take control of your camera, the image taking process, and the photos you create.

The e-book is designed for experienced photographers coming to the 5D Mk III from previous dSLR models, as well as intermediate and enthusiast dSLR photographers who wish to take fuller advantage of the capabilities of their camera.

As readers of Canon 5D Mark III Experience have said:

Extremely Helpful Guide to the Canon 5D3 and complements Canon's own guide with better descriptions and recommendations for many features, especially for the auto-focus capabilities, custom menus, and camera buttons.  It helped me to understand the features of the camera better, know where to tweak things for my own shooting style and ultimately be able to use the camera more effectively than would have been otherwise possible.

Well Written, Detailed enough to answer questions that were not well covered in the manual, and full of helpful suggestions about camera setup and use. I was planning to buy one of the (other 5D Mk III) books when they came out, but I don't intend to now. This book is the only guide I need.

Simplifies Without Technical Jargon - The author has the unique ability to explain in very readable, easy-to-follow directions how to operate every facet of the Canon 5D Mark III.  This is definitely worth purchasing as a companion to the Canon 5D Mark III and the camera's manual.

    easy to read but comprehensive

This book could be the text for a weekend immersion course on the 5D iii. It's easy to read, so with camera in hand you can quickly grasp the many advanced features of this camera in a short time and have fun while learning. Written for those upgrading from earlier 5D's or the 7D, the author includes many useful suggestions for all levels. Its emphasis is on still-image photos, but there's enough info to get you started doing videos as well. All in all, this is an excellent ebook. My personal suggestion is to buy the pdf format from his website, because I can read the iBooks edition only on my iPad3, not my iPhone 4 (even with the iBooks app) or PC (Windows does not recognise the format.)

I found this to be an excellent guide to the Canon 5D Mark III. Moving up from the 5D Mark II, I was not as proficient with the new menus and features. This book provided a very clean, concise explanation in a logical sequence.

I particularly liked that the author went through each setting step by step, with a picture of the specific menu item. As an example, I learned that I was using an enhanced auto focus feature incorrectly. I wouldn't have figured this out on my own, and the description of which setting to use for certain shots was also very helpful.

I read the e-book on my iPad, with camera in hand, and it saved me a great deal of time searching the web for answers to my questions. I'm now anxious to see the results of having a better understanding of how to use this great camera.
