Will her heart rule her head? While they work to overcome their trauma, Blue’s past comes back to haunt him in a violent way, putting Charlie’s life in danger. After all that they have to overcome, will this tear them apart?

Harsh, horrific reading for those who lived through the POW time! This book was painful, but again, you couldn’t put it down as you wanted to see how Blue & Charlie beat their demons. Don’t read this if too much sex & sexual references bother you.

The “warning” in the beginning didn’t prepare me for the horrible part of an enemy capture. This book made me cry. Overcoming these type of scars is not easy, but finding the right person to help heal the raw wounds returns a hero to a whole again person.
Dark. Very, very dark.
I didn’t read reviews before buying this book. I wonder if I would have skipped over this one if I had? The warning at the beginning *is serious*! The first 1/3, almost half of the book absolutely devastated me, and I have no personal trauma to trigger. I won’t say the book isn’t compelling- I couldn’t put it down and I used a whole day off into the wee hours of the morning to read it! I needed to see him through the other side and put back together. What the author put Blue through.... it’s certainly not your average romance book.
Side note: I think this writer has amazing insight, and a gift to move people. These books just need a little more editing to clean up errors, and they’d be spectacular. Little mistakes drive me nuts, but for the rest of the writing, I’ll fix it in my head. Tank and Blue have each had a continuity issue that bug me more. Like things got out of order. That’s frustrating.
I still love this team, I love that the author doesn’t drop out the men she already wrote about (I wish we could keep up more connection to the strong women we met, but...it IS all about the SEAL team, after all). I just....felt like poor Blue could have had just as powerful an experience with about half the trauma. I’m not even sure he had intel for the captors- wasn’t it obvious what they were doing? It’s so heavy, so dark. Go in to this one forewarned, or skip to the next one (I hope! I haven’t gotten there yet....)
