LOVED IT
Val has lived with a despising father her whole life. Threatening her to get what he wants and never caring if she was happy. After years of being with the wrong man. Going through a divorce that took everything out of her. Val, is well a little boring. She's sworn off men and would rather watch Shark Tank.
In little ol' Rock Canyon, gossip is bigger than anything. When a rumor circulates about Val, I can see why she would rather sit on the couch. Then one day she runs into Justin, a man who in some ways stole a part of her when she was just a teenager.
"If you're living your life for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. But I wouldn't let past mistakes and fears keep me from being happy."
Of course her father forbids it but there's no way to block true love. This story is in some parts hilarious, some parts passionate. About two people who really, really get each other. And when you find someone like that, you better fight not to lose it.
"I will always be here, Val. There's nowhere else I want to be but by your side."
Every time I open one of Codi's stories, it almost has this homie feel. I normally don't like books that are third person. But this is an example of when it's done right. She's able to convey the characters emotions and your able to really feel for them. I'm really loving this series....Lissa
