Great Read

People calling it racist either completely missed the point of the book or only read the title and made their minds up based off that alone. It’s meant to be thought provoking, but you can’t accomplish that when there’s no thoughts in a person’s head.

Thought provoking

This is a must read for all races. It places a mirror up for us to see what happens when we all go silent.

I too went silent fearing opening my mouth would cost my son his life. Never a problem EVER always home before dark. We filed a missing persons report, searching the streets, called the police may times a day searching for him. Finally found him in the jail side of the hospital.

He was arrested for trespassing in a public park. He was beaten so badly his body started to shut down, the back of his head had 35 staples in it. He was dehydrated. He also has scares to this day from handcuffs. It seems he was bee ten and tossed into a jail cell to die quietly, but after 4 days he was still alive and his family still kept pestering them. So they went ahead a sent him to the hospital with the charge of attacking 4 officers. As for his head according to them he did it himself banging it on the bars. According to him he was beaten by them on before his arrest and doesn't know anything else until waking up in the hospital. We accepted the charge of attacking an officer for no jail time and 3 years probation.

Every family has at least one story, most likely more.
