Really good
Lacey and Adam are co-workers at a company her father owns who have had a very strong attraction towards each other for years, but refuse to act on it. Both have been hurt in the past and feel that getting together would be a mistake, until they are put together at a conference in Washington DC and decide to act upon their feelings. Adam freaks out a flees leaving Lacey hurt and confused. They are then sent to a private island by her father to try and negotiate a deal with a hotel owner and things get very steamy. You can tell that there is more than just a physical attraction between the two of them, but there is so much pain for both of them from previous relationships that they can't let themselves act upon their feelings for each other.
Each character was very well defined and you got a true sense of who they were and why they felt the way that they did.
This is the first book I have read by Monique DeVere and I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely be reading more of her books.
