The #1 New York Times bestselling author continues her evocative Westmoreland Dynasty Saga with this romance following two defiant hearts clashing over a furious battle of wills in the glorious age of chivalry.
Abducted from her convent school, headstrong Scottish beauty Jennifer Merrick does not easily surrender to Royce Westmoreland, Duke of Claymore. Known as “The Wolf,” his very name strikes terror in the hearts of his enemies. But proud Jennifer will have nothing to do with the fierce English warrior who holds her captive, this handsome rogue who taunts her with his blazing arrogance.
Boldly she challenges his will—until the night he takes her in his powerful embrace, awakening in her an irresistible hunger. And suddenly Jennifer finds herself ensnared in a bewildering web…a seductive, dangerous trap of pride, passion, loyalty, and overwhelming love.

See AllRead the ENTIRE series!!
Since this is the first book in the series, please continue with the other books so that you do not get the feeling of stagnant character development that I got at first! Every plot, of each book, has its own uniqueness. However, I must note that I expected better for Mr.DuVille!
I wondered through each book, why in Gods name each man had amazing attributes but were sorely misguided and exemplified the very attributes they detested in others especially their respective love interests. As you read, you’ll note that these are all male characters that are well into their 30s but behave and react like someone 2 times their junior. I had to constantly remind myself of the times or century that these characters are born from and then I was able to continue through my frustrations with the characters! When I began reading through that lens, I began enjoying each character, their admissions throughout the storylines and their exceeding efforts to be better in their relationships.
And I’m reminded that this is how most relationships and marriages are tested even in this century. How many times relationships and marriages suffer from lack of communication, mutual understanding and how we all have jumped fully into a commitment under the guise of love but no TRUST!!
All in all, if you read all the books, you will come away understanding why each character made the choices and even the mistakes they made and fully appreciate the deeper love they have as a result! Love ain’t always rainbows and unicorns!
Amazing
I read this book first as a teenager and now 20 years later, I still can’t stop the tears from coming whenever I reread it. I adore this book n wish there were many more like it, and until you, almost heaven, once and always, perfect, paradise. I haven’t found another author like her in all this time, sadly
Good read
as someone in the 21st century, I had some issues with this book but it was a good read in general.
Side note: can authors please stop using “little one” as a romantic endearment? It’s terrible and completely off-putting.
