Publisher Description

In a “sexy, suspenseful read,” #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts delivers “a slow-burning fuse of a plot that ultimately explodes in a nail-biting conclusion".

Shelby Foxworth lost her husband. Then she lost her illusions....

The man who took her from Tennessee to an exclusive Philadelphia suburb left her in crippling debt. He was an adulterer and a liar, and when Shelby tracks down his safe-deposit box, she finds multiple IDs. The man she loved wasn’t just dead. He never really existed.

Shelby takes her three-year-old daughter and heads south to seek comfort in her hometown, where she meets someone new: Griff Lott, a successful contractor. But her husband had secrets she has yet to discover. Even in this small town, surrounded by loved ones, danger is closer than she knows - and threatens Griff, as well. And an attempted murder is only the beginning...

The Whining 3 Year Old

Good grief! Before you waste money on the audio version of this book, go get yourself a 3 year-old child, preferrably a girl, strap her in a carseat in the back of your vehicle and then attempt to drive for a few hours while she intermittently whines. That will be the equivalent of trying to listen to 'The Liar' . I usually enjoy listening to books while on a long drive but the first part of this one made me want to leap out of my vehicle into oncoming traffic! After umpteen million stanzas of 'Mama', 'Gamma', 'Cassie want', 'Cassie need', 'I'm tired', 'I'm hungry' and assorted other snivels, I turned my iPod back to good music in hopes the echoes of that snot-nosed kid would leave my ears.

I'll get the book and finish it at some point when that whining, grating voice is but a faint hum in my memory. Ugh!

The Liar

I truly loved this book. The characters the storyline. I wish she would tie some of her books storylines together like you get to see what happened to the characters from the last book. I am a reader of many books and this was. Good book But the collector has to be my favorite so fare.
