Publisher Description

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.

But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

Boundless Book Reviews ,

4.5 Stars

Pushing the Limits is a very complicated, young romance.

Echo and Noah are very different in a lot of ways but also have one thing in common. They’ve both experienced a traumatic event at a young age. They come together with a common goal, to find out what really happened and what’s really going on.

Echo’s fear of becoming like her mother, is not an irrational fear. But what I didn’t seem to understand is why her family wouldn’t just be honest with her. The whole time she’s left in the dark, isn’t that worse than knowing the truth? Noah loves his brothers and there’s so much he wants to do for them. But a lot of it is because he feels guilty for what transpired.

I did enjoy this book but I was left on the fence on the rating. Though I enjoyed it, I wasn’t sure if I loved it. It’s very clear how talented McGarry is, these are hard topics to write about and I feel that she really wanted to gut the reader. But didn’t gut me in an emotional way as you would expect. I didn’t exactly, connect fully with the characters. There was so much heaviness going on with them.

Overall though, I can’t deny this was written exceptionally well. So I give this 4.5 Boundless Stars.
