Publisher Description

Jane Eyre remains a classic of 19th-century English literature and is the most famous and influential novel by Charlotte Bronte.

Published in 1847, one of the most popular of all English novels, the story tells of the rise of a poor orphan girl against overwhelming odds. It is a work of fiction with memorable characters and vivid scenes exploring themes that have as much relevance today as in the time it was written.

British novelist Charlotte Bronte (1816 - 1855) was the eldest of the three famous Bronte sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature.

Three stars for the book, five for the narrator & value

Initially sceptical about the quality of the recording for such a reduced price, I was delighted to find in Lucy Scott a spirited & earnest narrator. The highlight of her performance is Mr Rochester, who she makes just cross enough & very funny at times. Near the end of the story I cried not because of the words themselves but for her particular reading of them ('Is that my Jane?').
Jane Eyre is not among my favourite books but it isn't unenjoyable. The low price & the convenience of the medium would give even the most odious of books a charm. Thank you iTunes for making literature the most accessible it's ever been!

The best book ever written!

I am the type of person who is reading constantly; before I sleep, at the dinner table, etc.
I can honestly say that this is my favorite book in the entire world. It is so well written, so passionate, so true.
This narrator is the perfect Jane Eyre in every regard.
I am so happy that I bought this, and it's also a very reasonable price.
You will fall in love with this book, as so many other have before.
