GREATEST Endurance Race EVER, but...
I'm giving this 4 stars out of respect to Dave and Mark, who I believe are 2 of the top 50 Athletes of the 20th Century.
Great book, incredible story, and the single worst choice to narrate ever.
I honestly thought it was an April Fools joke.
Truman Capote describes the Iron War.
It's awful, but these 2 giants make it worth it anyway.

Great Book - Horrible Narration
Before you buy this audiobook listen to the sample narration. This gentleman is terrible on a grand scale. It takes an Iron Will of ears to endure this pompous reader. It sounds like he is a Shakespearean actor trying to enunciating an old French manuscript and couldn't run a mile with a pack of dogs chasing him. I can't imagine why anyone would hire this guy for this particular book given the content and target audience. If they release this with another narrator I would buy it again and would re-rate it. Right now however however i cant hear my own thoughts as my ears are bleeding.
All triathletes admire Dave Scott and Mark Allen. They are legends and the book is very interesting especially given the subsequent turmoil and stir around the content from both Allen and Scott.
You wanna sell more audio copies then have Chris McCormack read this book... I would listen to it multiple times. Even Rich Roll kept me on the edge of my seat even when he was going on about pea paste and turnips... Apparently audiobook publishers don't really connect all the importance of this element of the experience.
Great story/Awful narrator
Great book, no question. If you're a distance athlete, you're almost obliged to hear this story; you won't be disappointed. But the narrator is awful. He over pronounces everything and doesn't sound like an athlete, hence a disconnect to the plot. Seriously, it's comical. Alas, the story is great do its bearable.
