Mostly noise

Most of the lesson is goofy music, and she spends a lot of time talking about what she intends to teach, rather than just teaching it. She's covered how to say China 4 times, but other vocab works she says to check a dictionary. Also, she speaks very softly, then there are very loud and jarring sound effects. I have learned a few things, but I wish there was less filler.

French for Beginners, Pt 1

For a very non-French-speaking beginner, this course, so far is not too bad! The lessons teach mostly the colloquial version instead of the formal, which is nice. The pronunciations are pretty good, slow and understandable, not too rushed and slurred. But a bit too much 'background music' and fluff, I think the time would be better spent on the language itself. I am only half-way through the first lessons, whilst also using the Pimsleur lessons (which are also good!), so my rating may change once I go a bit deeper into this set. And the price is reasonable, $2 an hour is good value. I recommend it.
