Publisher Description
The true story (on which the film Jeremiah Johnson was partially based) of John Johnson, who in 1847 found his wife and her unborn child had been killed by Crow braves. Out of this tragedy came one of the most gripping feuds - one man against a whole tribe - in American history.

Great Book!
I love reading about the mountain men. This is a must for anyone interested in that time period.

Ignore the snowflake reviews, this is great!
Crow Killer
This book does not purport to be true, and so many things in it don't seem remotely true. And if you don't mind racist slurs, this book is full of them, and not in the way Huck Finn uses them- but more the way a racist would use them.
If you've never been camping, or lived in the forest, or seen a fight, well it might seem okay, but so often you're just scratching your head and wondering, "How can that be true?"
