Sexy
Loved the story, loved the voice, and want the next one.
Not a good idea to narrate your own book
This might be a good book, I had put it on hold due to the drab, boring reading of it by none other than the author himself. It may have saved him money, but someone else should really narrate the book besides the writer. Very boring, monotone no inflection or change of voice. Pretty disappointed because I was excited about the book.
Hated the voice
Sorry, but this was often hard to listen to because Eisler himself does the narration, and I think the story suffered from it. Eisler tries to do New York, Japanese, straight American, and even female voices. It's painful sometimes, especially during love seens when you hear him playing both lead hard guy and his breathless female lover. He also makes more than a few pronunciation errors.
At the same time, if you know Tokyo, you'll enjoy the very descriptive play-by-play. I've only been a few times, but it felt very real to me, like someone who knows the city intimately.
