Needs improvement!
The concept, ideas, and audio portion of this audiobook are great. However, do not expect to be able to use it as a "tour guide". It is only 1 (one) track that is over 2 hours long! You do not have any breaks between different areas of Chichen Itza. When one area ends the next area immediately picks up with no transition. If you go to the Tek Trek website they sell a much better audiobook with PDF maps, and individual tracks of all the different areas any tourist will want to check out.
I have absolutely no desire to try and stop my ipad at each break. At the very least throw the consumer a bone and have a gong or bell sound during audio transitions.
This is not yet ready for iTunes- needs improvement and tracks.
Needs to be redone
(1) Too much filler. They also have a version for Ek Balam as well. How many times for each monument do they need to repeat that archaeologists are still piecing together the story of this "grand" civilization. They really only have to say that once.
(2) It is hot at Chichen Itza. Standing for two hours listening to filler, platitudes, generic statements about archaeology and dumb jokes is brutal.
There is great content scattered throughout the lectures.
Cut out all the filler - stick to the interesting stories - remove the generic platitudes about history - focus on the fascinating facts - and this will shorten it - and make it worthwhile.
