Great Aid for Book
I am loving this audiobook so far. He talks slow enough that I can follow along while reading the stories when I don’t know them well yet. It complements the written book very well. It is great to listen to while reading the book, doing chores, walking, driving, etc (so basically everywhere). Also, the book has some nice bits of humor in it and is engaging.
Excellent way to learn
I went through the first 5 of these books in one day.
He hammers home new vocabulary once it’s sprung on you and the story is so fluid you can eventually predict the word that’s coming. I was nervous that the constant use of the past tense which is typical of creative prose would make these less useful, but it is not an issue.
The slow speed of the delivery actually adds to the humor sometimes. It is amusing how philosophical one can be even using the most basic language. The confusing signals from the opposite sex and simplicity of language reminds fast wie Arthur Schnitzler und die komische Mode Glück im Unglück ist ein bisschen wie Grimmelshausen.
