Publisher Description
The English-speaking peoples comprise perhaps the greatest number of human beings sharing a common language in the world today. These people also share a common heritage. For his four-volume work, Sir Winston Churchill took as his subject these great elements in world history. Volume 1 commences in 55 BC, when Julius Caesar famously "turned his gaze upon Britain" and concludes with the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

Terrific
Listening to Churchill's work is better than just reading it. I've read this book before and it was good but now listening to it I've gotten so much more out of it. There is a cadence to his writing that this reader understands which I really didn't pick up on when I was reading it myself. Like the decline and fall of Rome it is more than just history it is literature. I don't think I will ever tire listening to this book. A real well done to the narrator and of course to Mr. Churchill.
$63.95... seriously?
Listen, I REALLY want this series of audio books. But what is with the price... was the original manuscript printed on dried unicorn hide?
