Publisher Description

In lively, mordantly witty prose, Negroponte decodes the mysteries--and debunks the hype--surrounding bandwidth, multimedia, virtual reality, and the Internet, and explains why such touted innovations as the fax and the CD-ROM are likely to go the way of the BetaMax.

Mr. J. Skellington ,

Printed in 1996

This book is a bit dated for it's topic. It likes to talk about "what will happen in the next decade"....which has already come and gone.

Many of the things that are "going to happen", as said by the author, already have or became reality, which takes away from the book.

It also contains dated examples of "hi tech" such as CD-ROMs, fax machines, and more...many more.

It is an alright book, but it is like someone telling you what happens next during a movie that you've seen a million times - bless their heart, but you know the plot better than they do.
