About Yuridia

After experiencing reality TV stardom as a teenager, Mexican pop singer Yuridia went on to release a string of Platinum-certified albums that attracted fans on both sides of the border. ∙ During her senior year of high school in 2005, Yuridia finished in second place on the musical competition show La Academia, which launched her music career. ∙ In 2007, at age 20, she became the youngest-ever solo artist to win a Billboard Latin Music Award when her debut, La Voz de un Angel, earned Latin Pop Album of the Year honors. ∙ After “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado”—her Spanish-language take on Bon Jovi’s 1995 single “This Ain’t a Love Song”—hit No. 1 in 2006, Jon Bon Jovi was honored with an ASCAP Latin Award. ∙ The 2007 LP Entre Mariposas, her first to feature original songs, included such radio staples as “Ahora Entendi” and “En Su Lugar,” the theme song for the telenovela Secretos del alma. ∙ Former Elefante frontman Reyli tapped her to duet on his 2011 single “¿Qué Nos Pasó?,” which spent a month atop Mexico’s Pop chart. ∙ Nearly all of her releases have hit No. 1 in Mexico, including the 2015 LP, 6, which also became her first to make the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.
