About Odd Future

The iconoclastic DIY rap collective Odd Future changed the face of hip-hop with their provocative lyrics, skate-punk attitude, and rotating cast of members. They evolved from a musical group to a full-on brand, launching several successful solo careers along the way. • Odd Future (also known as Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, OF, or OFWGKTA) was formed in Los Angeles by Tyler, The Creator in 2007. • In the years that followed, the lineup would include Tyler, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Jasper Dolphin, Casey Veggies, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Mike G, Frank Ocean, and Syd tha Kyd, among others. • In 2008, Odd Future independently released their debut mixtape, The Odd Future Tape. They followed that up with Radical in 2010. As their popularity grew, the group faced criticism for violent, misogynistic, and homophobic lyrics. • Odd Future’s debut album, The OF Tape Vol. 2, arrived in 2012 on their own Odd Future Records. The LP reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 5 on the Billboard 200. • Throughout their Odd Future tenures, members like Tyler, Domo Genesis, and Earl Sweatshirt released solo projects. Tyler’s 2011 debut, Goblin, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart and went gold. • Odd Future’s sketch comedy show Loiter Squad aired on Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim” from 2012 to 2014. • In 2015, Tyler hinted that Odd Future had disbanded with a cryptic social media post.
