About Tina (Hoodcelebrityy)
Fusing her Jamaican roots with her Bronx hustler mentality, genre-blending rapper HoodCelebrityy refuses to be pigeonholed by location or culture. • Born in Jamaica, Tina Pinnock began DJing at age seven. When she moved to the Bronx, she started rapping, impressing friends with effortless freestyles. • In her teens, she worked in a clothing store on Fordham Road. While on the clock, she would record freestyles to share on Instagram. • Close friend Cardi B shared one of Pinnock’s freestyles to her page. The influx of attention positioned her to release her 2014 debut single, “Wine Pon It,” which broke her into the mainstream as the face of trap-reggae. • In 2017, Pinnock released her debut mixtape, Can’t Believe It’s Just A Girl. Her follow-up, Trap vs. Reggae—led by the single “Island Girls,” featuring Cardi B and Josh X—reached the Top 10 of Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. • HoodCelebrityy’s 2017 single “Walking Trophy” is a dancehall self-love anthem that went Top 20 on Billboard's Rap Airplay chart.
