About Boss Hog
Boss Hog began as a side project for Jon Spencer of Blues Explosion fame, though he was still fronting Pussy Galore when he started Boss Hog with his wife, singer Cristina Martinez, in 1989. With a constantly shifting membership that variously featured former members of Unsane, Laughing Hyenas, and Railroad Jerk, the band banged out hard-edged tunes influenced by punk, glam, and garage rock, with Martinez playing up the sex-bomb image by appearing nude or close to it on album covers. The band became inactive after 2000's WHITEOUT album, though they never officially broke up.
