About Bohan Phoenix
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first time ever performing on stage was as a part of my high school gospel choir. The choir director said I didn't sing too well, but if I wrote verses about God and love, then I could join the choir and rap the verses during the song breakdowns. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Freddie Gibbs, The Alchemist, Alfredo João Gilberto, João Gilberto (1973) If there was ever a perfect album, Voodoo by D'Angelo is it, it's my "one album to bring to a deserted island" answer. It's life giving & soul replenishing. My 2nd and 3rd favorites can be and always is interchangeable, these 2 are fantastic though. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “3 Days in Chengdu” This is one of my favorite songs because it means so much to me. After touring China - my motherland - with my best friends from New York, we came back to Brooklyn and make this sonic journey. It truly transports me back on tour with the fam! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? After having been in New York for 15 years with almost 10 of that spent in Brooklyn, it was quite magical when I was invited to perform at a Brooklyn Nets halftime show at Barclays Center. Celebrating that moment with my peers, that was special. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are a lot left on my bucket list, but the journey, the process has been the most meaningful part for me, not the destination. I'm really enjoying living life, and seeing everyday through the perspective of being an artist. I feel so grateful.
