Yelp is not reliable any more.

Yelp is not reliable any more. I used multiple businesses that had high ratings, and the experience was poor. This happened repeatedly in the last 3 years. It used to be good. Now they only promote their paying customers, and prob with robo accounts like Twittxx does. I also noticed that if I left these paying businesses bad reviews, I would get hit with multiple policy “violations”. After using one of their advertised businesses, and having a horrible experience, and then writing a bad review on Yelp, they closed my account along with a message they sent to my email account which sounded pretty dictator-ish “when we closed accounts, we don’t give explanations”. I actually enjoy using Google a lot better now, and have for a while. Yelp is def the new MySpace, something if there past that no longer is. I highly recommend not to use Yelp and save yourself the disillusions.

Yelp is Terrible to do business with

I tried to use Yelp to grow my clientele for my hvac business. Yelp does not care about contractors using there platform. I had a client who asked me for a quote for a diagnostic. I gave him a price of $165. He stated I am 65% higher than my competitors. I know he’s trying to hustle me to lower my prices because I’ve been doing this for a long time. I never had any clients complain to me about my pricing. So I stated yes I’m a little higher than some competitors. Kept it short and sweet. Next thing you know he leaves me a one star review. Out of no where. I called Yelp customer service which took over 3 hours for them to answer the phone. Finally someone from the support team who’s name was Kacie B. I asked to remove this review and they stated no and was very rude about it almost like laughing in my face with it, I was really annoyed especially since it took her over 3 hours to answer the phone. I mentioned so if I client wants me to drop my prices and I say no there allowed to leave me one star reviews. They stated yes that they can’t do anything about it. Mind you they took away 3 5 star reviews I had based on some reasoning of the wording they used. I will not let my company be hustled and stay on a platform that doesn’t protect contractors from this type of hustle environment. I will never use yelp again
