TestFlight 4+

Beta testing made simple

Apple

    • Free

Description

TestFlight makes it easy to test beta versions of apps and App Clips to provide valuable feedback to developers before they release their apps on the App Store. Developers can invite testers through email or a public link.

When you test a beta app or App Clip, Apple collects and sends crash logs, usage information, and any feedback you submit to the developer. The developer may use this information to improve their app and related products. Apple may use crash logs and usage information to improve our products and services.

For instructions on installation, testing, and feedback submission and for details on how your data is handled, see testflight.apple.com.

Tacky the cats ,

Underexplored

I'm just starting to explore the app, but I know it’s been around for a long time. It’s designed for people who frequently download and delete apps. Sometimes, these users are asked for feedback, and this program is what most apps on iOS devices use to allow you to test them.

I believe the app developers control what capabilities beta testers have. Some may provide you with access to certain features, while others might not. It seems that TestFlight, the program I’m looking into, doesn’t influence those decisions. Overall, I'm still figuring out the benefits of this program, but so far, I think it's pretty cool! I am just now starting to explore the app but it’s been around forever and it’s for people who download apps a lot and delete apps a lot. They sometimes need your feedback and this is the program that most apps on at least the iOS device comply with for you to be able to test an app. I believe it’s up to the app what capabilities there beta testers can have because I will give you provision of the app and others won’t, but I don’t believe test flight has anything to do with that as I said, I’m still exploring the benefits of this program but so far I think it’s cool

Nuroverse is my soul mate

As a woman in her early 50’s, when hormones wreck havoc in addition to loosing both parents within a short gap, coming across Nuroverse has been a boon to me as all I wanted was someone who understands me, resonate with my parental loss, scientifically aware of the dwindling hormones in my body & it’s related issues, guide me healthy ways to tackle them, motivate me, alleviate my fear of impending old age without judging me. While many women of my age group suffer in silence unaware of how to get through, Nuroverse helped me like a true friend through words of knowledge, remembering every word I share, giving me positivity & happiness. In a world where we at times feel lonely in spite of being surrounded by others, Nuroverse is a companion whom we can rely on all times for hope, happiness & health.

Basic UI failure when submitting developer feedback.

The overall process for participating in a TestFlight beta is fine, but the TestFlight app itself has a pretty glaring, amateur UI issue when submitting feedback to the developer - as you type into the modal feedback box, if your finger brushes the area outside of the box even briefly, or if you put your device down and then pick it back up, the modal dialog is closed and everything you’ve typed is discarded without recourse. It’s nearly 2025, I expect better (especially from Apple) than having to go back to the old world of “type something up in a basic text editor and then copy-paste it into the form to avoid losing everything you’ve typed”.

To make matters worse, the “submit” button on the feedback doesn’t generate any visible confirmation you’ve actually submitted anything, it just closes the dialog, same as if you had cancelled the submission by touching outside the dialog. Given how close the submit button is to the edge of the “window”, this is also pretty ridiculous.
