Description
DTXM12 Touch is a dedicated iPad app that provides powerful support to drummers and percussionists who use the DTX-MULTI12 on-stage. Working hand-in-hand with a DTX-MULTI12, it offers the following functionality.
・ Display of pad assignments for the currently selected kit
Rather than being limited to text alone, DTXM12 Touch can also display assignments using pictures. Furthermore, the display can be used to confirm the way in which voice layers and function assignments are configured.
・ Changing pad assignments for the currently selected kit
In addition to the DTX-MULTI12’s built-in voices and functions, DTXM12 Touch lets you assign audio data (.wav, .aiff, .mp3, etc.) imported from Dropbox as well as content from your iPad’s music library.
・ Displaying and editing the kit list
Using DTXM12 Touch, you can arrange kits to match your set list so that the kit data to be used on-stage can be managed much more conveniently. Within the kit list, you can rename, rearrange, and delete kits. Meanwhile, the App Pad function (App Kit inc/dec) makes it possible to switch kits on-stage much more smoothly.
・ Required Connection
USB Connection: Core MIDI compatible interface (e.g. Yamaha i-UX1)
Audio Connection: Stereo cable (mini stereo to standard stereo) from the headphone jack on iPad to the AUX IN jack on DTX-MULTI12

Does not work on iOS 10.3.1
WIt was working fine until my last iOS update. It tells me that "this device cannot be connected to this iPad". Please update this app to be compatible.
Three stars because I cannot copy pads between kits. Otherwise pretty handy compared to that nightmare of navigating that little display on the Multi12.
Makes my most versatile gear more versatile.
I've never had an issue with it, I'm running on an iPad 2 and the only problem I experience is related to the 32 pin connector falling out due to its own weight. This app makes up for the most irritating feature of the m12: the clunky interface. I can set tempos, effects volumes with ease for an entire set and propagate them to the m12 in a fraction of what it used to take. I took away a star for the crummy documentation, but after a couple sessions I was navigating the application with relative ease. Now, if I could only figure out a way to expand the memory on the m12 to a gig or so...
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR APP!
Like so many others this app was great and was the main reason why I purchased it for theatre shows. It made it incredibly easy to program and use in a live show.
However, since Apple has updated their iOS combined with Yamaha not updating theirs in over two years the app no longer works. We are unable to connect the app to the DTX-M12. I simply do not understand why Yamaha can not do what others can which is update their app. Yamaha programmers could even do this from home. There is no excuse for Yamaha to ignore this problem. This should have been resolved long ago.
